Piano Emily Haines Songbook

8th October - the first typhoon of my life

Huhuuu, roars udn whistles, it storms and ... naja snow, not do it once. But the last few days has been raining very heavily until this morning that my shoes were soaked in 5 minutes.

The Japanese already make for quite a while panic because the typhoon, the last few days there is hardly any other topic of conversation. I have also followed on the Internet the calculated route. But instead of having as the Japanese fear, I was happy.
In Germany one never gets to face a typhoon here in Japan that happens often. That's why I was curious: What's the one thing everyone so afraid?

.. .

links: Play in infrared absorption. Right: vaporized. Where's Japan?

Now I sit in my room turns out, the full tuition. The tracks are no longer 9:00 to 11:30 down, so Annie was indeed to Shinagawa, but no farther. Also, not back. On the Internet there are
warnings (storms, heavy rain, high waves, storm surge) and what is it? It seems just the sun and it is almost no wind. But if the fact that we grade the eye are. Since there is no wind.

Source: Japan Meteorological Agency. Red: Direct typhoon. Bid: storm environment that draws the part with him. Me: Right side, above the Strip.

the Internet, the typhoon dubbed as the worst siet 10 years and a Japanese friend Mail sees it that way. I still find harmless. Is perhaps the fact that next to my balcony a staircase protrudes and right next to my balcony to another house a little further there is, so I'm really shielded from the wind. That would only be different if he zukäme front of me. So I stand also in the worst squalls on the balcony and look forward to.
Annika wrote me that in her Improvement of the wind sometimes quite to the balcony door. Hmm, strange. I remember nothing of the kind (other side) ^. ~

rain does not irgednwie. Funny, should not be a typhoon, a storm with rain?

Some Japanese seem to be the case with the strongest typhoon in 10 years to find not so bad. Just leave their umbrellas hanging on the window sill, the bicycle stand outside and also the Wäschspindel must endure and hope. Hats while the practice range for golf ball tees hats also taken. Part of the uncured to catch balls blowing in the wind.

now start again with a bit of labor. Already
funny, makes everything panic and self-seat pull on the PC and windows open habs oO
Funny clouds circle over our heads, the sky was clear, it was sunny. Which seems still, the clear sky is again covered by clouds (a little) and it blows again. You can hear the wind slowly blowing around the house and whistle through the ventilation hood. The clouds are gathering funny squiggle. Time directly from a, sometimes everything is beautiful and on the horizon at the skyscrapers you can see a wall of clouds.

Where the rain remains now is a mystery to me. Has probably the three days before been raining. Really, it was three days of rain without a break! Crazy!

orbiting clouds?

But storm when the sun is crazy ^.
~ Where's the rain? The
was tonight. What have I done? Deep and sound asleep, while all that I know of which have become awake. Crap! > _>

downer here is that you will not be informed as exchange students. Furthermore I am also a little sour. If my teacher Mrs. Murata not that would have called me over phone and reassured me: If tomorrow the lessons does not precipitate you but is too dangerous to stay home, no problem! - Then I would rely on the Keio. They may have written an email that we could find on the following pages of information on lessons, but gave only a quarter to 9, are being canceled the first two hours. Since you are already at the university. Or is stuck like Annika. And
on the afternoon class we should be informed at 10.30. At 11 still was nothing, just something in Japanese. I once called, had to decide so slow, whether I go or not. Until I see the phone number of the International Center have found (not available on contact, but when approaching), it took a short (thank you Annie!) And after my call was 11.10 The site also written for us exchange students with limited Japanese skills all in English: FAIL!

Sometimes you are left alone here really ...
